Derida Dance Center team has selected two foreign artists and is currently in a process of selecting more artistic teams who will do their residencies in the dance center this autumn. Min Li from China and Lindsey Derry from the U.S. will be here in October and November. They both presented very interesting project conceps which realization the lovers of contemporary dance in Sofia will be able to see at the end of their stay.

In 2015 Derida Dance Center hosts eight Bulgarian residency teams working in the field of contemporary dance and performance. This spring the center opened doors to the production Balkan Dance Reality Show - an international project of Brainstore Project Foundation, completed together with artists from Croatia and Germany.

Parallel to that, the three teams selected as winners of the 6th edition of Trizavisim Project of the Guild for Contemporary Performing Arts and A25 Foundation also produced and performed their works in the space of Derida Dance Center. These were the projects of Petya Mukova ("Graviton"), Violeta Vitanova ("3V") and Philip Milanov ("Distance"). Within May Mihael Griveva did the rehearsals for her new performance "Slipstream".

Derida Dance Center in Sofia, Bulgaria opens a call for an artistic residency in the field of contemporary dance and performance for 2015.

How many residencies will happen?
Two residencies will happen for contemporary dance artists coming from outside of Bulgaria.

In what time will the residencies happen?
Each residency will last 30 days. The applicants can express their preferences for a 30-day period of rehearsals within the time frame August 1st – October 31st.
