Ragga Dancehall is a comparatively new and very expressive dance style. It was formed during the 70’s and 80’s of the 20th century in Jamaica as raga music needed its expression through movement. Ragga and dancehall are substyles of reggae and are distinct from it by the presence of electronic instrumental and strongly emphasized accents. Later when Ragga came to Europe the style took elements from Hip Hop. A typical performer of Ragga music is Sean Paul. In its authentic expression the dance style makes a strong differentiation between “male” and “female” style. In Europe this difference was ignored which enriched its performance.
In Marion’s classes you will learn a mixture of “male” and “female” elements and will perform with high level of expressiveness and energy. All this guarantees a great fun.
